It is still a good book but it definitely isn't as goid as the previousbooks. Sawyer irritated me alot. He whines about how he will be able to protects his mate but when told his cousins pack can help protect his mate he questions what makes them qualified. Gee i wonder what is more likely toprotect your mate. You by yourself or an entire pack. Even with not knowing about their special abilities, I'd say they are still more capable than he is by himself. The logic Sawyer used to get out of going back to his family made absolutely no sense and really made me question how serious he took his mates safety. This book also loses points for how long it takes for Sawyer and Alex to meet Glenn. I get we needed the storyto progress but it resulted in Glenn feeling very out of place in the relationship. It's like he didn't belomg in it. The explanation for the three of them being mates seems way more complicated than it needed to be. Wirh Sawyer being one animals mate in Alex and Glenn being the other animals mate in Alex, and Glenn being Sawyers human sides mate. Why can't they all just be mates no explanation needed. We already know from previous books that bear shifters usually get 2 mates making it 3 people in one mating. They don't have a complicated explanation so why should this triad mating? In the beginning i just assumed they were all mates but now i have the dumbest explanation that really wasn't needed. Im also beginning to wear thin with all of the secrets and distrust within the blackwood pack and the people connected to it. The excuse of it being to protect everybody is bs at this point because all it has been doing is causing inconveniece for everybody. They claim to be a pack but it doesn't really feel like one. With each book brings more secrets and more distrust among the group. They are just way to divided. Also, we have another situation where they don't go to Jackson's pack when they should. Glenn knows about some of the abilities members of the pack have and yet still feels he can protect them better. The abilities he knows about makes them more capable of protecting his mates than him. It's annoying. Sawyer even knows all of the abilities also. It feels more like pride is more important than keeping the mates safe. He literally says he wants to keep them away from the one place his mates would be protected the most. Im beginning to hate how divided all of the main characters are. This is definitely the weakest of all of them for me. That being said, i do look forward to the next book. Five stars and more. This book was a bit different from the previous series in that the focus seem to be centered around the building up of several separate plots for future stories introducing new characters with enough information to be a teaser leaving one with more questions than answers. Only minimum focus on the romantic characters in this series. I have loved all previous books in this series and recommend Mary Rundle.
